Esther Dockery brings decades of experience in development, design, construction and property management to each project allowing VSA to maintain a highly disciplined focus on schedules, budgets, compliance and aesthetic direction. Each design decision is subject to budgetary scrutiny, and conversely, each financial directive is evaluated for impact on design quality. The company has deep roots in New York City Real Estate, and a proven track record of adding value through extraordinary design and ‘all-in’ project management.
Esther Dockery, a registered architect and Leed Accredited Professional, has a passion for simple, yet rich design, uncompromised function and an insatiable curiosity for technological advance. Esther believes that successful design stems from a pragmatic approach to real-life constraints and the ambition to achieve beauty and relevance.
As the founding partner of Vine Street Architecture, Esther leads the studio's design efforts and architectural execution. She has vast experience in the residential sector, both in rehabilitation work and new construction. Esther is also a founding Partner of NBO4 Architecture, an integrated architecture and development firm with a focus on high-end residential new constructions.
Born and raised in Germany, Esther received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and her Master in Architecture and Urban Design from Cornell University. She has previously worked in the offices of Michael Graves, SPaN, and Dieboll Architects where she was exposed to a diversity of project types. Esther is the proud mother of two energetic young boys and lives with her family in Brooklyn, NY.
Jason, an architectural design professional and ARE candidate, joined Vine Street in April 2018. Born and raised in New England, he attended Roger Williams University for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 2015 he received his Master’s in Architecture with a focus on adaptive reuse and large-scale industrial transformations. That same year, he began working in New York City for a firm specializing in hospitality and interior renovations.
In renovating buildings, Jason is an advocate of implementing the use of existing conditions and resources, thereby maximizing the full-term life span of a building. At Vine Street he hopes to continue to improve the process of socially conscientious design and construction.
